All of us have been reading the latest "acceptance" of HOMOSEXUALITY within the Indian society and the Indian law going a step ahead by passing at as the "right" thing to do by any independent individual.Oh really!!!!!!when did they realize this....actually its not about realization. What i could conclude after reading up the newspapers and hearing some absurd news channel...they eventually say the same thing.Firstly discussing sexuality as a topic was considered a taboo in our society and now suddenly now,not banning homosexuality seems to be the "in thing".Its great to see on how things have shaped up for people who have been facing discrimination just because they were in love with the person of the same sex. Here i would like to clarify few things....
Question no1:Was that such a botheration for people that they had to pass a law??
Question no 2:A law is a legal power.Does it really change the mentality of people around??
Question no 3:Homo or hetero, there need to be a law for both.or is it that being "HOMO" is against the law of the nature.
Going by few research done on homosexuality and the old scriptures on Hinduism...even the debaters and writers were confused, like all of us are right now.
Some say according to the teachings of Hinduism, romantic love can only exist between a man and a woman, and anything apart from this is considered as "LUST" as if men don't lust for women or vice-versa.
Nowhere in the Hindu sacred texts is romantic love excluded to all but a man and woman, so there are no religious grounds to make a statement to the contrary.Since homosexuals can experience romantic love, homosexual sexual relationships are not all the product of lust.
One more interesting facts which i read up recently in the internet was that in one of the oldest scripture named "MANUSMRITI"-if a woman falls in love with a woman....suffers a more severe punishment than a man who falls in love with a man.Ha ha ha...funny it seems to me...that even here there is no equality.According to this scripture..a woman is treated an equal to man's cattle, land and other possessions.
In the end just by banning article 377 which made homosexuality illegal we are not doing some great justice to ourselves or to the hundreds and thousand of homosexuals around.Im deeply happy for all the homosexuals around, considering one of my closest friend is one i could probably understand when they said lets go abroad and get married. And now with the Delhi High Court going a step further and considering it "legal" it really had made India one of the very few countries which now considers Homosexuality legal and acceptable.
But is India really ready,if it is then if tomorrow a homo gets neglected in the society, don't say it happens only in India. If you pass law,be sure you can accept the law.Attraction is natural and if we consider it unnatural between people of the same sex then there is something really wrong with our "UTILITY" function.
Its like saying i don't like eating vegetables, well if you don't like eating vegetable you don't stop buying vegetables. So if you don't like homosexuality don't condemn it because you just happen to be one of those who is supposedly natural according to the system but unnatural in accepting a reality.
Its a proven fact that homosexuality exists in all of us.Some are aware of it and some are not. Some want to experience and some don't.Its natural to be in love, be it with the same gender.High time the text books in school had a chapter other than the foolish "LIFE PROCESS 1 and 2" which every 9th or 10th standard was excited about reading...and all they found out was DIAGRAMS which were not even close to human understanding....but a scientific understanding. And if sexuality is considered the science of the mind, body and soul...then you have the answer for the number of question that must be popping in your head by now.
You don't need a law to accept something,if you want you would anyways. And if that's the case then you probably are listening to your "utilities".Respect an individual's sexuality that's above any law.
This is where a country's democratic character shows,be the law,by the law and for the law.
CHEERS TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO DARED TO SHOW THEIR LOVE FOR THE SAME SEX AND YES TO THE INDIAN LAW-at least now the policemen wont harrase.INDIA IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW COUNTRIES TO HAVE DONE THIS,SO WE ALL DESERVE A PAT ON THE BACK.BUT TAKE A STEP AHEAD AND ENCOURAGE IT LIKE ANY OTHER NATURAL THING SO THAT WE CAN HAPPILY SING
MUNDA SADDA GAY MUNDI SADDI LES!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!
P.S-This is just my observation and reading up different stuff that i eventually gathered my thoughts.I want to write more but i guess i would stop here for more to come.Actually i have to edit my post now...ha ha ha ha!So have fun reading and do feel free to drop in a comment or 2 and don't feel bad for what i have written, and if you do my sincere apologies to you because its not towards anybody but to ourselves.

Jai Ho!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you write so well.
Well done!
Love... Glen
Good start i must say.....couple of things i want to suggest being an avid critic as i'm. I became more interested in blogging when i got to know my mistakes from it.
ReplyDelete1. Remember it's a blog, do not write lengthy, i know the thought process does not make you stop once you start jotting everything down.
Suggestion: Try to speak what you want to say in 2 diff ways in 2 diff posts...i learned it the hard way too.
2. When you want some 1 to comment on your post, try using all the facts correctly, like the one in Hinduism, it might be offensive for some and not for the rest. At the end of the day, its your call as its a freedom of speech and expression via blogging we are talking about.
Last but not the least:
Lot of people do research on the topics you post or any one posts, so if you are trying to say something about the hinduism, explore other religions as well. The homosexuality is equally covered in Christianity, Jews, Muslims and lot of other religions around the world.
All in all i like your start and the way things are captured whatever bits and pieces you could. Must say it's one good comprehensive report, analysis and observation combined with your own experience with the Gay community. I don't personally follow any politics related to an individual nor am i against homosexuality. I really don't understand the whole concept personally as i have none whom i have come across in my life, to understand it in reality. But as i said, i have nothing against any people of this world.
It's very insightful and interesting. I think people generally fear what do they not comprehend. That just is human nature. But for me personally, a flower which is different hue from the rest of it's kind, a painting which is odd/new, a sculpture with an abstract theme and different kind a person who is willing to listen to his heart and break norms despite what everybody else thinks are examples of the extraordinary and sometimes true masterpieces. Well done Nits. You write really well. Love Tinks
